The vineyards of the Graves de Vayres wines currently extends over the districts of Vayres and Arveyres and have a total area of 700 hectares average output is 25000 hectolitres.
Bevause of its gravely or sandly gravely soil,this appellation is capable to produce white wines of great nobility.
As for the grape varieties. and concerning red wines you have to know:
The merlot which deives its subtble flagrance from these gravel soils,yields a round and supple wine
As for the cabernet franc,it contributes delicacy and colour.
The cabernet franc gives the taste of ripe fruit and contributes tannins which ensure a good ageing potential.
As for the white wines semilion brings power,delicacy,roundness and generosity.
Muscadelle,highly scented is expressed through its musky scents.
Sauvignon is distinguished by great delicacy and pleasant,characteristic aromas.
